Kacie B talks with Ellen (and a sneak peek at “The Women Tell All”)

Kacie B. sat down with Ellen recently and predicted that Ben picks Courtney in the end. That’s what I’ve been saying! Ellen showed a sneak peek at the “Women Tell All” episode that’s coming up Monday. Looks like Courtney will suffer the wrath of several scorned women. As Ellen says: I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. I wouldn’t either. How sad that in the end Courtney will have made enemies, not friends, and in the long run, she won’t have Ben either. It will all have been for naught. Hmmm. Something to think about . . .

Here’s the video:

Kacie B’s Return . . . and Quick Exit

Just after a night of Oscar buzzing, it’s back to “The Bachelor.” Nicki and Lindzi both confessed they could see themselves with Ben and went on to declare their love. From my side of the couch, it was oh-so-painful to watch, when it seems apparent Ben is smitten with Courtney.

Bye Nicki. Ben thanks you for playing.

Then enter (er, re-enter) our sweet, darling Kacie B. The commercial that’s been airing has been playing up her visit as a chance to warn Ben, but it turns out the real reason (or, more accurately, the initial reason) is because Kacie wants more explanation as to why she was let go. Oh, Kacie B. Let it go. Many of us, myself included, have been there and put ourselves in that position. Some part of us, even if we don’t dare admit it, thinks If only he could see me one more time, he would come to his senses. Rarely, if ever, does anything change; however, the “dumped” goes through everything all over again. That’s just what happened. Poor Kacie said she had to walk away from Ben yet again. She had to take a moment and lie on the floor in the hallway while she regained herself. Makes me sad for her. Her heart’s breaking, but I hope she mends quickly. She’s got too much potential to waste time pining over Ben.

Meanwhile, Ben is rattled by Kacie’s warning. I’d go so far as to say he looked downright annoyed by the time Kacie was leaving. Then when Ben met with Chris Harrison, he admitted being confused. I found it interesting that he said something to the effect that he had everything figured out and then Kacie came back with “the warning.”  (See!! I told you — he’s been planning to pick Courtney!)

Fast forward to the rose ceremony. For two seconds, I was thinking C’mon Ben! Now’s your chance. Cut ties with Courtney. Of course, that didn’t happen; Nicki didn’t receive a rose. Ben’s plowing full-steam ahead, heading straight for heartbreak station. First stop, a proposal to Courtney. Along the way, Lindzi’s being strung along. I don’t think I’ve felt as much sympathy for the other bachelorettes (or bachelors) as I have this season. Maybe because it’s seemed evident earlier on that Ben was focused on one person. The other contestants, though, of course, don’t see what we see. They aren’t there to see all the interactions with the other ladies. That’s why I think Poor Lindzi! She thinks it’s all “real” and she can see herself with him, and she thinks he might propose. I would hate to be in a situation like that where I eventually feel duped. Ugh.

Lindzi -- the one to be sacrificed at the end, all in the name of TV ratings

But the show must go on, right? Next week might be the show of all shows, when the girls return including Courtney. To face all the girls again, she’s either very brave or crazier than she seems . What did you think about her teary exchange with Ben where she said she regretted some of the things she’d said? There were moments I bought it and moments I thought This girl is good! I’m still haven’t made my final decision on that one.

I'm sorry, Ben!

One interesting thing to note: Ben asked Nicki and Lindzi if they wanted to stay in the fantasy suite. He let them make the decision. In Courtney’s case, somehow, Courtney turned it around and asked him what he thought. I’m telling you, there are subtle clues that indicate Courtney is the one. Not in a sense that their relationship will work out, but I do see Ben proposing. All these subtle indications plus my insider information (LOL). Did you read my post about that?

I could be wrong, but one thing I do know: I’ll be tuning in next week to see the claws come out the Women Tell All episode.

More musings on “The Bachelor” . . .

Why do I keep thinking about “The Bachelor” situation?? I had decided Ben was all in — hook, line and sinker — and destined to pick Courtney. Now, though, . . . I’m not so sure. Maybe he’s going to come to his senses and realize Courtney’s been in it just to win it. If he does figure that out, my guess is he’s going to pull a Brad Womack and not propose to anyone. No offense to Lindzi or Nicki.

Us Weekly has a clip from the upcoming episode, where Courtney explains that she tried to be nice to the other girls, but gosh, golly, she’s in a unique situation (i.e., I’m so much better than them!) Here’s the clip:

bachelors-courtney-to-ben-i-tried-really-hard-to-be-nice-to-other-women-2012242#ooid=l5anVrMzoHOkxoeopwAJ44xxNrL8gIhv

The article’s worth reading. A source close to Ben says he feels he’s had the wool pulled over his eyes. Seriously? C’mon, Ben! There was no wool involved! Your common sense was tossed aside along with Courtney’s underwear. Your pal says you feel like a fool, and that’s because you should feel like a fool. Grow up a little, okay? Geeze.

Maybe I shouldn’t be so hard on him. He had good intentions. But, I think that just shows he wasn’treallyready for marriage. He let sexual manipulation cloud good judgment. Why does that happen? All of the girls there are attractive. And sexy. Why is it one sexy, but truly insincere gal, can turn a guy’s head? Courtney’s quite the character, and while her nicknames for the other ladies may be appalling, that’s nothing, I’m sure, compared to what viewers are calling her. I wonder if, in the end when she’s earned the publicity she so craves, will she feel it was all worth it?

OMG, Kacie B. is Coming BACK to The Bachelor!

I just saw a commercial that revealed the “mystery lady” who surprises Ben, and it’s none other than Kacie B!! I’m in shock. Well, actually I had thought for a fraction of a second that it could be her, but I quickly thought Naaaaa.  Turns out it is! She’s coming back to warn Ben again that Courtney isn’t what he thinks she is. Good grief. How many times does Ben need to be warned? In the commercial, Ben asks, “Am I being played?” Oh Ben. Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben. Benny. What can I say? I appreciate Kacie’s concern for Ben’s welfare, but at this point, she’s got waaayyy more empathy for him than I do.

The preview for next week also shows Courtney getting teary-eyed and voicing her remorse for saying things about the other girls. Is Courtney going to have an “I don’t deserve you!” moment as a way to duck out of the competition? (I question her sincerity. Am I alone in my opinon on that??) Or is she just trying to lure Ben in a bit more? Either way, looks like I’ll be tuning in to find out how this drama plays out.

Dear Kacie B, You’re Too Good For Bachelor Ben! [MORE SPOILERS]

Here it is late Wednesday, and Monday’s episode of “The Bachelor” keeps bugging me. I mean, any gal who stages a mock wedding has got to be unhinged, right? The fact that Ben didn’t send her packing speaks volumes. Sooooo, due to my preoccupation, I had to go back and watch the last few minutes of this weeks episode. I was so caught up in Kacie B. getting the boot, that I’ve been neglecting to speculate on who it is that’s going to be making a comeback appearance. Who could it be? I’m just not sure! Any thoughts on that? Could Shawntel be crashing the show again? That would be awkward!

One thing I do know after rewatching the ending: Kacie B. handled herself with such class and restraint at the end when she had her final conversation with Ben. She saved her breakdown/freak-out for the limo ride. Watching her be so kind to Ben, I couldn’t help but think how Ben is really missing out! I can’t believe what he’s getting himself into with Courtney. He’ll find out soon enough, though.

A thought crossed my mind that Kacie B. could be the next bachelorette, but Emily (from Brad’s second go-’round is all set for that). Honestly, I don’t think Kacie B. will be on the market long enough to sit through a season of “The Bachelorette” followed by a season of “The Bachelor” before getting her own shot. Some man near her is going to realize what a catch she is and make a move. Smart man. Dear Kacie B., don’t cry over Ben. Be grateful he showed his true colors before you got too involved. Take what you’ve learned and move on. Next!!

And then there are Lindzi and Nicki. During the rose ceremony, the look on Lindzi’s face showed she was certain it was her time to go home. Then when she got the rose and it was down to Kacie and Nicki, poor Nicki looked like she’d just ran over her dog. She thought was out the door. So to then watch them standing by as Ben announced they would all be traveling to Switzerland — it was painful, just awful! Come along for the ride ladies, as Bachelor Ben strings you along on his way to propose to Courtney. Ugh.

I know, I know. You may be saying, How can we be sure he chooses Courtney in the end? Well, besides my gut feeling, I have one other piece of circumstantial evidence. I know someone who lives in Scottsdale, AZ (Courtney’s hometown, remember), and this someone who lives in Scottsdale is a hair stylist. This stylist posted a picture to facebook of said stylist with Bachelor Ben, after having given Ben a trim. This was no more than two weeks ago. Coincidence? I don’t think so. I think Ben was in town to see his gal. When I saw this photo on fb, I didn’t think much of it, other than a passing Oh wow, six degrees of separation type of thing. Then after Monday’s hometown dates, it hit me. Bleh. So now that spoiler is out of the bag.

Maybe I’m wrong. We’ll all have to tune in Monday to see who the mystery gal is, see how those dates in Switzerland turn out. At this point, I can’t look away just yet.

Oh, the Bachelor . . . [SPOILER ALERT]

This show is reallly beginning to irk me, but I keep watching. A few weeks ago I was thinking I can’t believe Ben keeps Courtney around. Despite the internet rumors that Ben ends up with Courtney, I kept thinking it was just a ruse to get everyone riled up and ranting about Courtney. You know, along those lines of No publicity is bad publicity. But now Ben just sent Kaci B. packing, so I’m going to go ahead and call it and concur that Ben does end up with Courtney. Bleh. Kaci B. was the only other one whom Ben seemed to have a genuine attraction for. Obviously whatever attraction was there was tossed to the side like Ben’s underwear when he skinny dipped with Courtney.

I don’t feel bad for Ben. He’s made (is making) his choices and will have to deal with that. Plenty of people have tried to warn him, including Ellen. Did you see that episode? I heard about it and looked it up, so here it is in case you missed it. Pay close attention to Ben’s face when Ellen tells him he’s probably engaged to Courtney. It’s rather telling. When I saw this, I was ready to call it, but I just didn’t want to say it was so. Anyway, check out this clip of Ellen telling it like it is to Bachelor Ben:

I don’t want to be yet another person jumping on the Courtney-bashing-bandwagon, but this girl is nutso, and for Ben to have picked her illustrates a couple of things. 1) This show doesn’t allow the Bachelor/Bachelorette to really get to know the person. Duh. 2) Men, despite their best intentions, tend to think with their penis. I hope this isn’t true of all men, but who am I to say?

Not to gloat in anyone’s misery, but internet rumors suggest that after 3 months of engagement that Ben and Courtney are on the outs. Big surprise there. Not. This is a classic Jake & Vienna redux. I have got to stop watching this show . . .

80s TV shows = Time Machine!

I don’t think of myself as much of a TV watcher, but I’ve noticed I’ve been posting about TV shows lately. Go figure. I do sometimes have the TV on, especially if it’s a weekend my son’s off spending the weekend with his dad. In a weird way, the white noise keeps me company. So in this white noise fog, I’ve made an interesting discovery. Time machines do exist!!!

Tonight I was doing some work after my son went to bed, and I heard the familiar refrains of that popular sitcom “Cheers.”

I was suddenly transported back to the 90s when I was married. I remembered a former co-worker I haven’t thought of in years, who was a huge Cheers fan. She even went to Boston to visit the place that inspired the series. I had a mini trip down memory lane.

As interesting as that was, it’s nothing compared to the feeling I get when I hear the theme song of “Too Close for Comfort.”

Hearing the theme song and watching an episode really takes me waaaaaayyyy back. For some reason it also makes me think of a cousin who lived down the road from us for a few years. We must’ve watched the show together at times. Otherwise, why does the show make me think of her? It’s more than just thinking of people, though, and reminiscing. I get a visceral feeling, almost like I’ve stepped back to a different time. It’s more tangible than just thinking back. It has to be the music, the sounds, and the way it imprints a feeling or sensation in some remote wrinkle of our brains. It’s an amazing feeling. Like an addict chasing a high, I’ve found myself flipping to the channels that play the old reruns, looking for that window to the past. Time machines do exist.
